When Global Politics and Nature’s Uncertainty Disturb The Populace, Bunker Sales Increase

We don’t need Hollywood to spook us into fearing that doomsday is upon us soon. Just one quarter of a way into 2011 and we have witnessed a string of international disasters ranging from earthquakes, tsunamis and nuclear disasters in Japan, a large earthquake in New Zealand and uprisings engulfing the Arab world spurring fuel shortages. The notion of a coming doomsday seems less laughable by the day.

The US National Security Staff finished a new study on cataclysmic events, and it recommended that instead of evacuation the best course of action in the face of a serious catastrophe, especially a nuclear-related emergency, is to find shelter in an indoor or underground facility.

Thus it is understandable that companies like Green Eye Technology have been reaping an unprecedented boost in sales within the first quarter of 2011. According to CEO George Welhalf, the number of calls they’ve been getting have been surging by the day, as more and more people are feeling less optimistic for tomorrow and are desperate to know if there’s possibility that they can ride out what appears to be an imminent apocalypse. Welhalf have reminded his critics that although he and his line of work do not claim any gifts of supernatural foresight, their purpose is to let the average Joe gain more confidence for their own future.

In light of this situation, safety shelters designed and built by Green Eye have been selling like hot potatoes. These come in a variety of options customised to suit small families, or entire groups of people ranging in the thousands. Military-grade protection is offered through the use of materials such as fibreglass, at the same time there is also an emphasis to ensure that the shelters also come with a domestic familiarity, which is an often lacked feature in the average Cold War shelter. This is implemented so you can barely be unaware that you are actually living underground, while you try and make up for the lack of driving opportunities playing driving games, after you are done reading through all your car magazines

The main focus however, is that these shelters are constructed with the purpose to persevere not just most serious storms and quakes, but also other possible man-originated disasters. Radioactive fallout, electromagnetic pulse and germ warfare just to name a few. With an in-house air filtration, power generator, and a large storage facility for food and water, these shelters have the capacity to allow its occupants survive underground from weeks to years at a time.

With their businesses expanding beyond the average consumer, a company like Green Eye can also strike up lucrative deals with many governments. The state often require emergency operations centers should their offices become incapacitated, and shielded vaults for their network servers and crucial papers that are both particularly compromising when a disaster strikes.

Business owners like Elan Yadan are now embracing this new line of industry, putting down a $20,000 deposit for a spot reservation, instead of using it as the down payment for a new home like he originally intended. Because according to him, if you are not a psychic or a scientist, it is better to err on the side of caution.

Many things could become unavailable if disaster occurs. However, home theatre and hi-fi will keep us amused, as well magazines.
