Wine Investment – What Do You Need To Know?
Maybe nothing, and maybe plenty, but wine investment is the perfect way to put money away with the guarantee that it will grow with each passing year! You don’t have to be an expert in wine in order to invest in it. You don’t even have to drink it. The money from investing in wine isn’t made from drinking or knowing the wine, it’s made from storing it.
The reason that the wine must be stored in the dark is due to direct sunlight or fluorescent light can cause the wine has an unpleasant odor, this is called “light struck.” Therefore, if you are storing your wine in a special cellar or closet in your home, make sure that the lights in the closet are sodium vapor lamps or incandescent lamps. Then, when storing wine is important to put aside, this is because the cork can dry out if the wine is vertical. Cork is important because it prevents air intake, if it’s dry, air can enter the bottle and eventually spoil.
For your wine the best temperature is approximately 12.2C. This temperature keeps your wine maturing well and this will ensure that it will not oxidize. Then any lower wont hurt the wine, but it will mature slower, if it goes over 24C your wine will oxidize. For the investment of wine you are be sure then to ensure that the temperature is perfect at all times and be sure that you have a cooler where you store your wine.
Any higher will cause mould and possibly the labels will start peeling off owing to the humidity should be around 70%, any lower and the cork may dry plus it minimizes vanishing. Finally you should make sure where you have your wine is only for your wine like that the cooler, closet, cellar or other storage area. Wine “breathes”, which means that it intakes smells that are around it. You should make sure that the area has proper ventilation if there is no way to isolate the wine completely.
There are three steps, research, purchase, and store. Through this point of your investment is waiting to take advantage of it! All these are important points that can be easily learned and perfected. By choosing the wine you need to make sure that your wine investment is safe. What you have to do is choose your wine with care and research, some of the wines mature more quickly and after some time can not be stored, because they will go wrong, while others improve as they mature. Investing in wine is fairly simple once the basics down.
